# FPOImg

> FPOImg is a free placeholder image API for developers and designers. Generate images for wireframes, prototypes, and CMS layouts using a URL. Customize dimensions, colors, gradients, and text without an account or API key.

Images are geometric placeholders with text and colors for layouts and mockups.
PNG is the default; .jpg, .jpeg, .webp, and .svg select other formats.
GET requests return image bytes. Use the request URL directly as an HTML img src.

Prefer query parameters for captions and colors to avoid ambiguous path segments.
URL-encode query values. Encode # as %23 in hex colors, or omit #.
Dimensions are clamped to the supported range; consult the API reference for limits.
